windows 7 and IE8

by Max on Feb.01, 2010, under Nonsense

Well this is fun: IE8 is now (almost) as bad as IE6. Microsoft finally made a decently secure operating system (Windows 7 x64), now how about a browser?

Right now, I’m using Minefield (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20100201 Minefield/3.7a1pre). It is the pre-release version of Mozilla Firefox. What I like about it is that it shows tabs as windows in the Windows 7 taskbar. Also, I have never encountered a major security issue so far. That is a lot more than I can say for Internet Explorer.

Playlister

by Max on Nov.23, 2009, under Fun, Programming

Here’s something I’ve had for a while, only just now decided to finish it and add some usability, looks like it’s ready to be thrown out into the internet. Most people on the internet nowadays have heard of playlists, and playlist.com, which lets people make their own playlists. However, annoyingly, it does not allow downloading of the playlists for use in programs other than Windows Media Player 9+, nor does it allow the download of individual mp3 files.

Before too much rambling, a link: http://playlist.max-land.org/

So what’s it do? My other site, simply put, allows you to download the playlists in formats which are much more compatible than what playlist.com allows (and cross-platform, playable on Linux, Mac, and Windows), as well as individual mp3 files from the playlist. Why did I make it? Because I wanted to download mp3’s and use VLC instead of WMP.

Simply a blog

by Max on Nov.23, 2009, under Uncategorized

I decided to change this site over to a blog (obviously).  I’m not sure why, just because I don’t have much else to do with it at the moment, no more projects to devote a whole site to. With this, I’ll just make a post about my new projects, etc,..
